Raising God's Girl: Empowering Parents to Raise Daughters with Conviction, Confidence & Courage - Synopsis

Raising God’s girl in His way, with His power, for His purposes.

Scripture teaches us that our daughters are gifts from God. Is this really true? In all seasons of life?

The answer is yes. But sometimes we can miss this truth in the whirlwind of emotions, activities, peer pressure, and media influence. How can we raise strong girls when we feel so weak?

The key is knowing this: as we are raising our daughters, our heavenly Father is raising us. He is using the challenges and joys of parenting to teach us about our own relationship with Him – to help us understand and receive His amazing love so that we can then lavish it on our daughters.

So join us as we examine our lives, renew our minds, and embrace the responsibility and honor of parenting. Discover how to become strong and courageous parents being used by God to build strong and courageous daughters. Learn how to envision your daughter so that in all places, in all situations, and in all seasons she is sure of this: I am God’s Girl!

A fabulous premise, creating a faith-based approach to raising a daughter with a unique angle that will be so welcome to parents who may have checked in on non-faith websites and books prior to finding this gem of a book. The authors begin with instant relatability via their beautifully organized points of connection, allowing the reader to recognize his or her own parenting concerns. The authors also charm with an engaging writing voice throughout, providing guidance without ever lecturing, which is a welcome tone in the book. I especially liked the scripts provided, as well as the explorations of them. No doubt readers will find these beautifully useful in talks with their daughters. The responses to a daughter’s comments are especially stellar. Well done! The authors have layered the book with many useful elements, including recommending additional books to supplement the wisdom in this one. Pace and organization shine and we get many moments of lightness, as well as light, via the authors’ excellent instinct in keeping the reader engaged in the book. Including the daughter’s POV, as well as addressing the dad’s, makes this an all-inclusive read, something I loved seeing. And it’s a brilliant question on page 93: “As our daughters age, should our parenting change?” That’s an important issue for the reader, who may discover that some parenting tactics have “aged out.” Beautifully done!
