About Karen A. Jones

Karen Jones enjoys oil painting, writing children’s books, and volunteering for a local senior center. After earning a Standard Teaching Credential from Southern California College (now Vanguard University), she saw several of her elementary school students struggling to understand certain school subjects. To help children learn easier, she wrote and illustrated six sets of self-teaching educational booklets called the Light Pole Books. These include a Beginning Reading, Math Facts, English, Bible, History/Geography, and Science series—available through jewelpublishing.com. She also wrote and illustrated Andrew in Miss Plum’s Class, a chapter book on “kindness” about a third grader who finds the secret to happiness—also available through Certa Publishing.

"Twins’ Double Victory" is a fictional story based on true events of Karen’s mother and her mother’s twin sister. While in her early fifties, the author first learned about the twins spending a good part of their childhood years living in children’s homes. Knowing that her mother and aunt intended to write their life story before they passed away, Karen decided to do it in their memory. She began with a true story on their lives but realized that the message of forgiveness would reach more children and adults if it were written as fiction. While writing this story, healing took place in her heart toward her mother. She prays that the book’s message of forgiveness will inspire children and adults to persevere through difficult times, forgive others, and keep hope in their hearts for a brighter future.

Part of the proceeds from the book sales will go to two children’s homes in Arkansas.
